Objective

To maximize the leadership capability of Francis Tuttle students who have already demonstrated exemplary leadership skills in their classroom, student organizations, and communities.

How Students are chosen for SLA

  1. Instructors identify and recognize potential leaders and provide those students with applications.
  2. Completed applications will be reviewed by the SLA Selection committee.
  3. All applicants will be interviewed.
  4. Selection will be based upon application and interview. 
  5. Approximately 35 students will be chosen to participate in SLA Class VIII.


Leadership Opportunities

During the course of the school year, the academy will focus on the following leadership opportunities:
  • Team Building
  • Personality Development
  • Leadership Development
  • Community Service
  • Public Speaking
