Francis Tuttle Marketing and Professional Sales and Millwood High School student Roderick Wright, and Cosmetology and Putnam City West student VySeanna Brown both received Careertech Foundation Minority Scholarships during CareerTech's recent 40th Annual Summer Conference.
The purpose of the Careertech Foundation Minority Scholarship is to recruit qualified individuals to pursue an educational plan in a college or university leading to a teaching profession in one of the seven CareerTech occupational areas.
Both Wright and Brown excelled in their studies at Francis Tuttle and indicated interest in pursuing a CareerTech teaching certificate.
Wright will attend Oklahoma State University to pursue a degree in Marketing and Professional Sales, and believes that giving students the right skills is important so they can achieve their career goals - just as he would like to follow in the footsteps of his instructor.
Brown will attend Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City to pursue a degree in Business Education, and wants to focus more on the management of life and money and, in turn, pass that knowledge on to others.
